Lots of parents with children attended the event and was educated regarding the dangers of childhood cancer.

Throughout the months of raising childhood cancer awareness, eight participants shaved their heads at the event to show support and encouragement to the children who suffer from childhood cancer.

Two stylists each from Hair Room Saloon and De Coiffeur Studio voluntered to shave the heads of the participants while J Studio dancing team performed for the event.

Aside from raising awareness for childhood cancer, Go Botak 2019 had also raised funds from the public by paying RM2 to participate in a jar guessing challenge to stand a chance to win an Electrolux dryer, by guessing the right amount of gold ribbons in the jar.

The Electrolux dryer will be donated to the Hospital Wanita dan Kanak-Kanak Sabah if no one were able to make correct guess.

Go Botak 2019 also invited Datuk Frankie Poon, the Minister of Health as the guest of honour once again for the event.

The minister supported the project and hoped it would be held again.

“We might not able to fully stop childhood cancer, but we can reduce the cases of childhood cancer through early detection. We should fight for childhood cancer from these few steps; awareness, prevention and take immediate action towards this matter,” Lim said.
