Mohd Nafuzi urges TFC supporters to fill SMZA Stadium next season

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Sept 10 Terengganu FC (TFC) head coach Mohd Nafuzi Mohd Zain has called on the Penyu squad supporters to fill up the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin (SMZA) Stadium in Kuala Nerus once the project to upgrade the venue is completed next season.

The former national player also hopes that his squad would be able to maintain their consistency when the team returns to the stadium for the 2020 Malaysia League season.

This season, TFC and TFC II used the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium in Kuala Terengganu as their home turf.

“I am excited to use the SSMZA field and of course all the players want a beautiful and quality pitch to play on.

“When the field is in good condition, the game becomes more interesting, the quality of the game will turn out differently and the aura of TFC fans will make SSMZA a respected venue,” he said in a statement issued by the Malaysian Football League (MFL) yesterday.

Commenting further, Mohd Nafuzi was confident that his players will be able to maintain a positive vibe in the ongoing Malaysia Cup despite not being able to use Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium.

For the record, the east coast team tops the Malaysia Cup Group A standings with nine points after four matches, despite playing at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium.

“For the Malaysia Cup this time, we still can’t use the stadium (SSMZA), but I keep track on its development. The stadium perhaps can be used next season,” he said.

On April 8, TFC in collaboration with MFL handed over the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium field transfer project to a private company, RS Greenmaster (M) Sdn Bhd to upgrade the quality of the pitch. - Bernama
