Together with Community Programme to be held annually – Jannie

PENAMPANG: Assistant Law and Native Affairs Minister Jannie Lasimbang has hailed the just-concluded Together with the Community Programme as a resounding success.

She noted that more than 300 people visited the 20 booths set up by various government agencies.

“We wanted to help the rakyat meet with relevant department­s and agencies,” said Jannie. “Hopefully, the agencies were able to help address their problems.”

“At least, they would have got answers from the agencies on their problems.”

Jannie, who is also Kapayan assemblywo­man, said the programme was the first of its kind. “It will be held annually.”

Assistant Education and Innovation Minister Jenifer Lasimbang, Kota Kinabalu member of parliament Chan Foong Hin and Likas assemblyma­n Tan Lee Fatt were also present.

The programme, held at the Buhavan Square in Donggongon, was jointly organised by Kapayan N19 and N20 Moyog Community Developmen­t Leader Units yesterday.

The Sabah Welfare Department assisted with welfare applicatio­ns and answered queries on various welfare programmes available to single mothers and the disabled.

Social Security Organisati­on (Socso), Sabah Health Care, Sabah Informatio­n Department, Inland Revenue Board, Giatmara and the Penampang District Education Office, Sabah Skills Developmen­t Centre and the Special Education Schools for the blind in Putatan and SMK Tansau, Penampang also took part in the programme.
