-

GEORGE TOWN: French fries lovers can now purchase the food from a self-service vending machine at Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak (KOMTAR) in George Town.

The first of its kind machine in Malaysia which was launched on Sunday is found on the third floor of KOMTAR.

Akoof Food and Beverage Sdn Bhd CEO R.Hari Krishnan said that customers can now enjoy fresh french fries for RM3 a cup which only takes 35 seconds to prepare.

The machine which was introduced by the company is user-friendly to all races from the younger generation to the elderly. Four pre-set languages have been installed, namely English, Malay, Chinese and Tamil which are easy to understand and follow to produce hot french fries.

According to Hari Krishnan, Penang was chosen as the first place to set up the machine as there is high demand from industrial factories.

To date, three factories around

Bayan Lepas have expressed interest in the machine.

He said that every cup contains approximately 200 grams of french fries.

He added that quality control was ensured as the raw potatoes are deep frozen and high quality vegetable oil is used.

Customers also need not worry as the machine is capable of replacing the oil used once the content of vegetable fat exceeds the limit set by the Ministry of Health.
