Explore future at Institut Sinaran Open Day

KOTA KINABALU: Institut Sinaran will throw its doors open wide and invite the public to participat­e in fun-filled activities on November 29.

Under the banner “Open Day featuring Environmen­t Day Activities”, Form 4 and 5 students are invited to come a to the event to live the Institut Sinaran experience and to

discover the institute’s campus, plus the range of courses offered.

The weekend will be an unmissable opportunit­y to discuss, explore and have fun in three different categories. Starting off with a two-hour study camp, students will be able to ask scientific, business and legal questions, conduct investigat­ions and participat­e in team building activities. This is also an opportunit­y for students to get ready for the challenges of college life and to adjust to the new environmen­t.

This is followed by environmen­tal exhibition­s from Environmen­tal Protection Department, Bentarakat­a, Diverse Borneo, Save the Sharks and Rays Sabah as well as Wildlife Sentinels.

The exhibition­s will center around the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution”. This will help raise awareness of how plastic is a threat to the environmen­t and to encourage students to develop creative strategies for addressing the problems.

In addition, a mini carnival will be held simultaneo­usly during the exhibition­s comprising of food and beverage kiosks, food trucks, photo booths, recyclable craft and a Horror House which will include decoration­s in the form of recyclable materials.

“This Open Day featuring Environmen­t Day activities are an opportunit­y to spark new passions where students can take center stage, create a masterpiec­e or learn to shape the future of the planet,” said Institut Sinaran’s Business Developmen­t Director, Rebecca Oi.

The event will give interested students and their parents from across Sabah the chance to explore the college’s facilities, meet current students and staff, learn more about the range of courses on offer such as GCE A-Level, Diploma in Commerce, Diploma in Accounting, Certified Accounting Technician and IELTS, as well as have their questions on higher education answered.

All activities for the students are free and they may also enroll for Institut Sinaran programmes on the day itself.
