PKR issues show cause letter to Zuraida
PETALING JAYA: PKR has issued a show cause letter to vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin over allegations of misconduct, its secertary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said.
He said the letter was issued to the Ampang MP on Friday.
“She has 14 days from yesterday to come up with an explanation, following which the Disciplinary Board will decide on further action, either to hold a hearing or to drop her. This is within the board’s scope of authority and duties,” he told reporters after attending the central leadership council meeting here, yesterday.
Also present at the meeting was PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Asked whether the letter was issued for a misconduct with regards to her speech or her attendance at party meetings, Saifuddin declined to comment further.
“I am not privy to that because the Disciplinary Board chairman only mentioned about the show cause letter and nothing else (in today’s meeting) and that was within his territory,” he said.
In addition Saifuddin said the board had with immediate effect suspended AMK Central Leadership Council member Mohd Akmal Hisyam Ahmad Tamyiz, who was among those detained during a drug party at a condominium last Sunday, pending police investigation.
In another development, Saifuddin also announced a slight reshuffle in the MPP membership as agreed to in yesterday’s meeting, including the appointment of several new MPP members to replace those who have been dropped.
These include Dr Lee Boon Chye to replace Lee Khai Loon and Rodziah Ismail to replace Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh.
“As such Lee Khai Loon who is also on the Appeals Board, is no longer an appointed MPP member, and to replace him on the Appeals Board is Hulu Selangor MP Jun Leow,” he said.
As for the party’s strategic director he said Sim Tze Tzin would take over the position from Datuk Mansor Othman, adding that the latter would remain as an MPP member as he was elected, not appointed.
“The minor reshuffle is a normal practice especially after the party holds its annual congress,” he added. - Bernama
