The first year will be introduction to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) while in the second and third years, students learn to identify and manage risks and hazards, participate effectively in decision-making processes, and improve health and safety to prevent injuries and illness in the workplace.
Graduates can look forward to careers as environmental health and safety specialists, corporate health and safety directors, food safety inspectors, health and safety engineers and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) inspectors.
Meanwhile, Bachelor of Science in Psychological
Science is a general applied psychological science course that emphasises the application of knowledge to problems arising in professional practice. It provides an understanding of the theoretical framework within which various approaches and techniques have been developed.
Students learn to apply psychological theory to evidence-based practice and extend the boundaries of knowledge through research, as well as discriminate between valid discipline knowledge and questionable esoteric theory and practice.
The degree is designed to provide a strong foundation for more advanced studies either in the fields of psychology or business.
The intakes for both courses are February and July. For more information, visit courses. curtin.edu.my/courses-andstudy/.
The degrees are recognised by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Bachelor of Science in Health, Safety and Environment is recognised by the Australian Occupational Health and Safety Education Accreditation Board (Safety Institute of Australia).
Bachelor of Science in Psychological Science, meanwhile, is the only course of its kind in Australia that is nationally and internationally accredited by Australian Psychological Society and the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (United Kingdom).
