Sabah PKR Youth chief confirms he was sacked as political secretary

-

Sabah PKR Youth chief Raymond Ahuar confirmed that he had been sacked as the political secretary to Deputy Chief Minister Christina Liew.

Accepting the decision which was made in the cabinet meeting meeting recently, he thanked the state government for giving him the opportunity to hold the position for the past 18 months.

“At first I received a short message from friends when I was on my way from Pensiangan to the city centre after attending an event, saying that it was circulated on the WhatsApp platform, but I did not respond because I have no idea about it,” he said, when contacted by The Borneo Post following the shocking news.

However, Raymond said he was contacted by Christina, who is also the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment yesterday morning for an afternoon meeting.

He met Christina around 1pm yesterday, and was told that the message which went viral was true.

“I was told that the decision to sack me was proposed by the Chief Minister (Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal) and got the majority support from the cabinet members.

“Datuk Christina also informed me that she had already asked the State Secretary to issue the notice to sack me as soon as possible.

“Without the political secretary post, I am still a PKR Youth chief, PKR Pensiangan divisional chief, Sabah Pakatan Harapan Youth chief and Malaysia Pakatan Harapan Youth vice chief and I will continue serving the party, leading the youth,” he said.

Raymond added that he would continue to be responsible as PKR chief in Pensiangan and bringing up the people’s voices so that they would be heard.

When he visited Kg. Katalirus Nabawan in Pensiangan recently, Raymond said the villagers were worried about the logging activity in the area, which is polluting the environment.

“I was told that my recent visit to the area, listening to the villagers’ grouses about the issue was one of the reasons of my sacking, but it is just a hearsay.

“I went there on behalf of the government, listening to them, hoping that we can do something,” he said.

Raymond, however, has no idea the real reason for sacking him.

When asked about another speculation about him going around talking bad about Christina and PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, he stressed that it was untrue.

“I am always behind Anwar and have been repeatedly supporting Anwar as Malaysia’s 8th Prime Minister, and my stand is still the same,” he concluded.
