-

KUALA LUMPUR: Serba Dinamik Group Bhd (SDGB) has teamed up withtheAssociationofBumiputra Women Entrepreneurs Malaysia (Persatuan Usahawan Wanita Bumiputra Malaysia or Usahanita) to help women entrepreneurs empower themselves through the adoption of information technology (IT).

Group managing director/group chief executive director Datuk Dr Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah said the company will roll out three applications (apps) developed by its wholly-owned subsidiary Serba Dinamik IT Solutions Sdn Bhd (SDIT) for Usahanita members.

The applications are Qwik Pay, a cashless payment system; Global Content Exchange (GCE), a cloudbased online content sharing platformn; and EasyBuyBye (EBB), an e-commerce platform.

“We believe the introduction of all these entrepreneur or business-related applications can be implemented throughout the network of Usahanita members.

“We want to be part of the group pushing for the adoption of the latest technology in the era of Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0 among Malaysian entrepreneurs, as we find that the rate of adoption is relatively low among them,” he told Bernama.

(MoU) between Usahanita and SDIT, which will spearhead the programmes for Usahanita members over a period of 12 months.

He said it is important to get the entrepreneurs to start using a cashless payment system and sell their products and services on an online platform as this would enable them to target not only Malaysians but also the global market.

“We also intend to embed the usage of enhanced virtual reality and augmented reality technology in the EBB platform while introducing the retail-onthe-go feature in EBB, where advertisers are not only able to link their products on the app, but also directions for parking and location of their retail store,” he said.

Under the MoU, he said, SDIT will provide educational and training programmes for Usahanita members on how to use the EBB platform, in order to promote and sell their products as well as to generate and improve their sales income.

Meanwhile, Mohd Abdul Karim said SDGB, the main sponsor of Usahanita’s Women Entrepreneur Convention 2020 or Konvenita 2020 event, hopes that more government agencies could play a greater and more aggressive role in offering guidance and assistance to women entrepreneurs, as empowering women is part of the national agenda.

Konvenita 2020 is taking place from Feb 12 to 16 at Plaza Dataran Merdeka. The event, now in its second edition, features booths and exhibitions by some 1,000 entrepreneurs as well as related agencies.
