All-new Honda Accord opens for booking

KUALA LUMPUR: Japanese carmaker Honda has opened the booking for the 10th generation Accord at all of its 100 dealership­s nationwide.

The official launch for the model is scheduled to take place in the first quarter of this year.

Managing director and chief executive officer Toichi Ishiyama said the muchantici­pated all-new Accord is set to move the yardstick for next-generation sedans with its unmatched performanc­e, stylish and premium design as well as cu ing-edge technology and safety features.

“More notably, the 10th generation Accord is now equipped with an enhanced turbocharg­ed engine, which places Honda as the only Japanese mass-market manufactur­er to introduce the powerful engine in D-segment,” he said in a statement yesterday.

The company is confident that the Accord would bring immense excitement to the market, especially those who seek a sedan with a complete premium package.

Powered by an enhanced 1.5 litre VTEC turbocharg­ed engine more powerful than a 2.4-litre engine performanc­e, the new Accord comes with full-suite of Honda SENSING that features, among others, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, collision mitigation braking system and lane departure warning.

The new Accord is also equipped with smart parking assist system with brake assist (rear), multi view 360 degree camera system and Honda LaneWatch for drivers’ convenienc­e and safety.

The Accord was first introduced to the world in 1976 and was launched in Malaysia in 2001. To date, 84,100 units were sold in the country. — Bernama
