Day of positives for Sarawak

KUCHING: Sarawak yesterday recorded no new Covid-19 cases, the first time since the coronaviru­s was detected in the state on March 13, said the State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN).

In a statement, the committee said the cumulative number of positive cases remains at 523, with 17 deaths.

SDMC also said 19 more patients have recovered and were discharged yesterday, bringing the total number of those who have recovered from Covid-19 in the state to 301.

Eighteen of those discharged yesterday were from Sarawak General Hospital while one was from Miri Hospital.

On the number of Person Under Investigat­ion (PUI) cases, it said 61 new cases were recorded yesterday and that 93 PUI cases were still waiting for laboratory test results.

As for Person Under Surveillan­ce (PUS) cases, the state recorded 39 new cases, of which six had tested negative and were allowed to return home, it added.

It said in Kuching, 176 PUS are being quarantine­d at Hock Lee Hotel, Rajah Court Dormani (116), Pullman Hotel (224), Hilton Hotel (315), Harbour View Hotel (273), The Waterfront Hotel (252), Riverside Hotel Astana Wing (274), Riverside Puteri Wing (206) and Grand Margherita Hotel (132).

In Miri, 115 are at Mega Hotel, Somerset Hotel (50), Ostay Inn (18), Cosy Inn (6), Imperial Palace (162), Eastwood Resort (10), Imperial Hotel (7), Paragon Hotel (52), Meritz Hotel (146) and Miri Hotel (29).

Twenty-eight more are at Wasan Inn and 18 at Park City Everly in Bintulu; 79 at Purnama Hotel in Limbang; 71 at Hotel Seri Malaysia in Lawas; and 138 at RH Hotel and 94 at Premier Hotel in Sibu.
