No new cases in Sarawak
KUCHING: No new Covid-19 cases were recorded in Sarawak yesterday, maintaining the total number of positive cases in the state at 545.
A Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) secretariat report said out of the total 545 positive cases, 19 were ‘retested positive’ cases.
Nine were being treated at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) here, eight at Sibu Hospital, and two at Bintulu Hospital.
As of yesterday, five patients recovered from the disease and were discharged, all from SGH, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 464 or 85.14 per cent.
Active cases being treated in hospitals yesterday totalled at 64 with none in intensive care.
Tebedu District was also declared a green zone yesterday, making it the 37th green district in Sarawak.
Only three districts were still designated as yellow – Kuching, Sibu, and Serian — with no red zones in Sarawak.
The Covid-19 death toll for the state remained at 17 or 3.12 per cent of the total positive cases.
Meanwhile, 19 new persons under investigation (PUI) cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total number of PUI to 6,573.
The SDMC secretariat also reported 395 new persons under surveillance (PUS) cases yesterday, bringing the total to 2,665 cases being quarantined at 38 hotels throughout the state.
