88.88% of public complaints from Luyang resolved by DBKK – Phoong

KOTA KINABALU: Luyang assemblyma­n Phoong Jin Zhe has revealed his second annual report card regarding public complaints resolved with the Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK).

The annual public complaints report was compiled and prepared by the Kota Kinabalu City Hall, he said.

From May 2019 to May this year, there was a total of 477 complaint cases that his office has filed to the City Hall, he added.

Phoong said the completion rate was up to 88.88 per cent with 424 cases completed from a total reported cases of 477.

There was an increase in 54 cases of the total reported complaints in comparison to the previous year, he said.

“It shows that in 2018/19 the completion rate of the complaints made to Kota Kinabalu City Hall via his assemblyma­n office was up to 85.75 per cent with 361 cases completed from the 423 cases reported.

“These complaints include trimming overgrown trees, cleaning clogged drains, fogging to prevent dengue and others.

“Furthermor­e, it also includes the improvemen­t and maintenanc­e of recreation­al parks,” said Phoong who is Minister of Youth and Sports.

He said his team had been working closely with City Hall since he was elected to ensure that Luyang residents would continue to have a comfortabl­e living environmen­t.

He specifical­ly thanked his Community Developmen­t Leader, Chin Thau Kwong, who had been working hard day in and day out to assist residents to raise their complaints and concerns to the City Hall.

Phoong also praised Kota Kinabalu Mayor Datuk Nordin Siman for leading the City Hall in resolving these complaints to ease the residents in Luyang.

He then commended the efforts of City Hall to be more effecient and effective under the leadership of the Mayor.

“My Luyang team is always there to assist the people to solve their hardships. We’ve never forgotten the mandate from the people that we were elected to improve their living.

“We still have a lot to learn and improve, we will continue to listen closely to the people and assist them to solve their day to day problems,” he said in a statement to the press yesterday.

“I would like to welcome my constituen­ts to file complaints to my Community Developmen­t Leader (PPM), Mr Chin Thau Kwong at 0109336999,” added Phoong, accompanie­d by Chin, met with Nordin yesterday.
