KOTA KINABALU: Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) has donated 2,000 Covid-19 antibody test strips and two thermometers to Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK).

The chamber recently received 6,000 Covid-19 antibody test strips from Li ShaoBo, the chairman of Sinocare Inc., a company based in Hunan province China. The donation was a gesture of goodwill from Sinocare, following the company’s courtesy call on SCCC last year.

SCCC president Datuk Frankie Liew handed over the test strips and thermometers to Mayor Datuk Nordin Siman here yesterday.

Also present were SCCC honorary advisor Datuk Harry Teo, deputy president Datuk Soh Poh Soon and committee members.

Liew said the donation was timely to ease the shortage of rapid test kits (RTK) in local health facilities.

“The Covid-19 antibody test strips will enable more frontliners to be tested for the virus.”

Meanwhile, Nordin thanked

Liew and Sinocare for the contribution, adding that the health of DBKK staff was of utmost importance to the City Hall.

He said DBKK staff, especially the frontliners, have remained committed to their jobs in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the city during the Covid-19 pandemic.
