Trio jailed, another fined over drugs

KOTA KINABALU: Three men were jailed while another man was fined by the Magistrate's Court here yesterday for separate charges of possessing syabu.

Salfazrin Ayer was sentenced to eight months behind bars, Rahim Batjo and Malcolm Lance Ginajil were jailed 10 months each while Irwan Jeikin was fined RM2,800, in default, 10 months' imprisonment.

All four accused had pleaded guilty before magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie to their separate charges under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

They were arrested for having the syabu in Putatan, Penampang and Kampung Air between February 22 and March 8.
