Man shares experience quarantined at Likas Sports Complex

-

KOTA KINABALU: Aaron is happy that his days being quarantined at the Likas Sports Complex badminton hall is over as he completes his 14-day isolation today.

He shared that although they slept on new mattresses and pillows at the complex when they were quarantined there, the situation was far from comfortable.

“It was really hot. We had hoped the air-conditioning would improve the situation but it was still very hot,” he said, reminiscing his days staying at the complex.

Aside from that, they also suffered from water shortage, he said.

“There is water available in the morning, but after that, I would have to wait until after 10pm for water to be available again,” he lamented.

However, one of the issues that scared him most while staying at the complex with over 100 other people was the lack of compliance with social distancing.

“The people group together in a room. Sometimes they congregate near the air conditioner that has been prepared by the hospital because of the humidity,” he said.

Aside from that, he also felt wary of using the toilets at the facility.

“People smoke there so it wasn't so comfortable.”

Now back at home and distancing himself from his other family members, he said that he is very happy.

“And I have one day more to go,” he said concerning his quarantine period.

Aaron has been tested negative for Covid-19 since his return from another state where he was employed.

He was tested several times prior to being allowed to finish the rest of his quarantine period at home.
