ASNB's Labur Raya campaign for children is back

KUALA LUMPUR: Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB) has relaunched “Labur Raya”, an annual campaign in conjunctio­n with Aidilfitri, to cultivate an interest in saving among children.

First introduced in 2017, the campaign encourages parents, guardians and family members to invest monies received by their children during Aidilfitri celebratio­n in ASNB's unit trusts.

In a statement yesterday, ASNB said this year's campaign offered RM200,000 worth of ‘duit raya', in the form of ASNB's unit trust, to 830 winners that would be chosen randomly based on their investment value.

It said those interested just have to open an account or make additional investment for investors aged 18 and below in Amanah Saham Bumiputera, Amanah Saham Bumiputera 2 and Amanah Saham Bumiputera 3 Didik.

“All three fixed price unit trusts are traded at RM1 per unit and have low risk, making them suitable for long-term investment such as building an education fund,” it said.

ASNB said investment can be made online through MyASNB applicatio­n or ASNB agent platforms during the campaign period from May 28 to July 31, 2020.

Winners will be announced three months after the closing date.

The company explained that investing in the early age of their children would give parents more time to build an education fund and to choose methods that are more flexible in determinin­g the monthly investment according to their affordabil­ity.
