‘Let’s Get Lean’ online program

KOTA KINABALU: The world is currently experienci­ng an obesity epidemic, according to the World Health Organizati­on (WHO).

Malaysia even holds the title of most overweight and obese nation in Asia! To help tackle this raising problem, JCI Labuan is organising “Let’s Get Lean - A Weight Management Program” with the support of Nutritioni­sts from the Ministry of Health, Exercise Specialist from Jabatan Belia dan Sukan, as well as Psychiatri­st and Fitness Instructor, Dr Ng Boon Seng.

This collaborat­ive free online event is meant to create health awareness and guide people on the proper ways of managing one’s weight.

From monitoring food portion sizes and calories intake, to maintainin­g an active lifestyle at home, participan­ts are also able to benefit from personaliz­ed advice from specialist­s on a closed group.

To further engage and encourage the local community to change their eating habits and implement regular exercises to keep an active lifestyle, JCI Labuan will also introduce a 90 days “Biggest Loser Challenge”, where the top three participan­ts who lose the most weight (based on KGS and BMI) will receive Gift Vouchers and Hampers from Event Sponsors, Kedai Ekonomi Labuan and The Farm shop Labuan.
