Mini Team Excellence Convention competition goes online
KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) Sabah will conduct its Mini Team Excellence Convention (MTEx) differently this year as the annual competition will be held online.
Its director said Mokhzani Aris Yusof said the change was in line with MPC's vision to encourage more Sabah companies to utilise online platforms to promote their business.
“Usually we do it with large crowds at big hotels. However, for this time, we are doing it differently in line with the MPC management's initiative to strategise online platforms,” he told The Borneo Post.
“A total of fourteen teams, from eight different agencies comprising government bodies, service companies and manufacturing companies,” he added.
Each group would come up with project proposals focusing on improvements in the business methods of their agencies, he said.
Mokhzani explained that the programme would be running all throughout the month of June.
It is understood that the regionallevel competition will be held in September while the national-level competition will be held in November.
Mokhzani opined that online platforms would help the local businesses cut cost, especially in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“This programme will also help the businesses sync with the government's Penjana programme. Through Penjana, the local industries will be encouraged to be more internetsavvy,” he added.
Mokhzani said that the winners of the competition might even be brought overseas to compete internationally at international conferences.
