A win for independent is people’s victory – Kapayan contestant

-

PENAMPANG: Independent candidates are not bound by rules or pressures of any political parties, said Kapayan candidate Chew Shung Seng.

“For politicians of any parties, everything they do and say must take into account party interests and their leader’s name and honour. This is the reason why I decided to stand as an independent candidate,” he said.

“I want to make right what is wrong in today’s chaotic political scenario,” he added.

Chew who will be facing six other opponents, added party members also bicker with each other and are sometimes not able to work together peacefully.

Ultimately, he claimed these would cause problems when there is a need for the leaders to address people’s woes, be it in terms of economy, policies, standard of living or other matters.

“And the victims would always be us, the rakyat”.

Chew said if independent candidates win on their own ticket, they can work with the government to bring about the changes needed for the people and restore happiness and wellbeing.

He said governing party will never work with the opposition and that is why, if a person with political backgrounds or from the opposing party becomes assemblymen, it would not benefit the people of his area,” the 45-year-old businessman turned politician said.

In other words, Chew said choosing an independent candidate is a guaranteed 100% victory for the people whereas choosing a leader from certain political parties only guarantees a 50% win for the rakyat.

Realistically speaking, the father of two said what the people need and hope for a better life would always be sacrificed with the presence of opposition and governing parties.

“Both are not on the same page and are constantly bad mouthing each other.

The people suffer and are at loss due to their fights and power struggles,” he opined.

According to him, independent assemblymen and representatives do not and will not face this problem because they do not need to side with anyone, they just need to do their job and work for the people, serve the people and to deliver what is needed for the people.

“Give me an opportunity to serve in Kapayan in this coming election, let me be the voice of you,” he said.

Chew pledges that he will devote himself to taking care of the local people, including the elderly, weak, women, children and the disabled.

He also vows to provide free spectacles to identified communities and strive to provide general free medical services among others to Kapayan folks.

“Give me an opportunity to serve in Kapayan in this coming election and allow me me be the voice of you,” he said.
