S'wak maintains Green Zone with no new positive cases reported

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded another day of zero new positive Covid-19 cases yesterday, maintainin­g its ‘Green Zone’ status, said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

Moreover, the total number of accumulate­d positive cases in Sarawak remained at 700, it pointed out in a statement.

“There are also no Covid-19 patients who have recovered or been discharged from hospitals today (yesterday).

“The total number of recoveries remains at 678, which accounts for 96.86 per cent out of the overall cases,” said the committee.

According to SDMC, three patients are still being treated – one each in Bintulu Hospital, Sibu Hospital and Miri Hospital.

However, the committee noted that the Alam Cluster in Bintulu remained active, with eight cases reported.

“Seven cases from this cluster have since recovered and have been allowed to be discharged, while another case is still being treated in Bintulu Hospital.”

On the number of personunde­r-investigat­ion (PUI) cases, SDMC said five new cases were recorded yesterday, with four cases pending lab test results.

Since the first positive Covid19 case was reported on March 13, Sarawak has recorded a total of 19 deaths.
