Dr Abdul Rahman: Work hard to achieve good result in next state polls

-

KUCHING: Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Islamic Affairs and DBKU) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi hopes that all Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) members at the grassroots level are not too comfortable following the (goof) results of the last state election.

Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also PBB vice president, said the party still needed to work harder even though it performed well in the last state election.

“Every time there is an election, the challenges are different and we need to be sensitive to the current situation. This is why we still have to work hard to ensure that PBB achieve excellent results (during the next state election),” he said at Randau GPS-PBB DUN N4 Pantai Damai in Rampangi on Wednesday.

He also said that PBB members must be active at all times and not go to the ground only when election was near, because that’s not the culture of the party.

Even right after the conclusion of the previous state election, he said the party was very active in meeting and helping the people. PBB members must realise that hard work is always needed if they want to win in every election.

“We don’t want to be seen as a party that meets the people only when election is near. We must work hard at all times,” he said.

Dr Abdul Rahman also said that cooperation between the party leadership, branches and units, must be strengthened further so that all work could be implemented more effectively.

He also reminded party members to understand and comply with the new guidelines and norms of the Movement Control Order during the next election as well.

Meanwhile, he expressed his confidence that PBB under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg wuld once again achieve excellent results in the next state election.
