Four new SPDK, 33 PGDK
KOTA KINABALU: Four people have been conferred Sabah’s highest award, Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu (SPDK) which carries the title Datuk Seri Panglima in conjunction with the Head of State’s official birthday on Oct 3.
They are Home Minister Dato Sri Hamzah Zainudin, Defence Minister Dato Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakub, Sabah Deputy Chief Minister cum Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Datuk
Gapari Katingan @Geoffrey Kitingan and Sabah State Secretary Datuk Safar Untong. The Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu (PGDK) award which carries the title ‘Datuk’ is awarded to 33 individuals, including Sabah Attorney General Brenndon Keith Soh, and several members of the State Assembly.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hazani Ghazali is also awarded the PGDK along with Sabah Education Department director Dr Misterine
Radin, Public Service Department director general Tan Sri Datuk Mohd Khairul Adib Abdul Rahman and academician Dr Mohaizi Mohamad.
Ex-national goalkeeper Peter Rajah who passed away in 2014 is posthumously conferred the award.
There are 65 recipients of the Ahli Setia Darjah Kinabalu (ASDK) and 95 recipients of the Ahli Darjah Kinabalu (ADK).
The other award recipients include 183 with the Bintang Kinabalu (BK) and 156 with the Bintang Setia Kinabalu (BSK), while 133 others will be receiving the Commendable Services Award.
The Justice of Peace (JP) title is awarded to 11 individuals. They are Chan Boon Thian, Dato Hj Harun Ismail, Datuk Rosmadi Datu Sulai, Edward Linggu Bukut, Gulam Haidar @ Yusof Khan Bahadar, Mairin Idang @ Martin, Mohd Fuad Bee Basrah, Mohd Rafi Datuk Alli Hassan, Datuk Nordin Siman, Tan Kok Jyh and Richard Lin Do Nyean.
