PAS delivers food aid to affected residents
TAWAU: Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) Kalabakan Scholar Council Affairs together with Sabah State PAS Scholar Council deliverED food assistance to the residents affected by the Targeted Enhanced Movement Control Order (TEMCO) around the district.
Kalabakan area PAS Scholar Affairs chief, Ustaz Roslan Ramli, said for the first phase, a total of 38 family heads had received the assistance which covered the areas of Kg Panggangan Koko, Sin Onn Road, Kg Kongsi 7 and Bulatan Megah Jaya.
“PAS is aware that many people in the community have their food supplies and income affected since the enforcement of the TEMCO in the district.
“On the basis of concern and responsibility, we took the initiative to go down to the field to help all the affected residents who had been identified,” he said yesterday.
He urged religious scholars and ‘dakwah’ bodies to go down to the community to help those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic throughout the country.
“Currently, we are not able to deliver da’wah and meet the community, and hold talks at the mosque because the house of worship is also ordered to close. Therefore, one of the ways to preach is to be kind to the community by delivering welfare assistance, especially to the affected residents in the villages,” he said.
Roslan said most of the affected people are farm laborers, construction workers and those who operate stalls around the village area because they could not go to work.
“The management of Kalabakan PAS Scholars is very grateful to all the volunteers who were also involved in the mission to help the affected residents this time. The assistance given today will not be cut off, in fact we are trying to gather as many more philanthropists who will also work with PAS in the future,” he said.
Also presenting donation were Ustazah Samsiah Bahron, a representative of Tawau Islamic School Alumni and Hayati, a representative of the Parents and Teachers Association of Sri Tahfiz Nadi Al Baghdadi Tawau.
