KOTA KINABALU: With the closure of eight more Sabah National Registration Department (NRD) offices from today, all 29 NRD offices in state have ceased to operate until a date to be announced later.

Sabah NRD director Khairrul Aminus Kamaruddin in a statement yesterday said the eight involved the Kota Marudu, Pitas, Telupid, Tongod, Kuala Penyu, Sipitang, Tenom and Nabawan offices.

He said the closure of the NRD offices, including those located in the green zone areas, was to curb the spread of Covid-19 outbreak

Prior to this, the department had announced the closure of 21 of its offices.

“We advise clients to postpone their dealings with NRD until the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) is over, if the matter is not urgent,” he said, adding that for emergency cases such as loss of identity card, contact Sabah NRD at 088-488300/301/365.
