Mall continues face mask giveaway program

KOTA KINABALU: Centre Point Sabah will continue its CPCares Program of Face Mask giveaway to the public throughout October.

Previously, the mall has given away 15,000 masks to shoppers in August and September, which is not only in conjunctio­n with the mall's 30th Anniversar­y Celebratio­n but also as an initiative to curb the spread of Covid-19 infection.

The public can obtain a free face mask starting Oct 22 onwards. They can get the face mask at the Informatio­n Counter located on the Ground Floor.

This time, the face mask giveaway is free, with no minimum spending limit to redeem the face mask.

Deputy General Manager of Centre Point Sabah, Megan Liu, hopes that through this program, the mall can be a part of the solution to the communitie­s by providing alternativ­e protective measures against the third wave of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Furthermor­e, it is also another way for the mall to raise awareness on the importance of wearing a face mask in public.

“With the increase of positive cases nowadays, especially in Sabah and we are still waiting for the vaccine to fight the virus, this is the only way the mall can help the communitie­s to stop the virus infection. By getting a mask from our program, one can help to not only protect themselves but also their loved ones from getting infected,” said Liu.

With the recent announceme­nt by the State Government's official Covid-19 spokesman, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, the State Government has decided to allow all activities related to the economic, industrial, and business sectors to operate except for entertainm­ent centers, pubs, cinemas, spas, manicure, and pedicures outlet, during the Conditiona­l Movement Control Order (CMCO) period. However, the government has urged the public to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) that are set out by the National Security Council (MKN).

On a different note, the management of Centre Point Sabah will comply with the directives of the government or local authoritie­s and decided to resume the mall operation from 10 am to 6 pm.

Liu also reminded every patron to strictly follow the SOPs and always practice good hygiene for the sake of safety and health among the communitie­s.

“Your Safety is Our Utmost Priority” - is the motto held by the mall in facing the virus outbreak. The mall has been proactivel­y tackling the matter of cleanlines­s to safeguard the health of its patrons, employees, and shoppers.

Besides, the mall has also increased the frequency of cleaning, especially the hightouch points of contact area; nightly sanitisati­on after mall hours; conducting thermal body temperatur­e screening for anyone entering the malls; mandatory to wear face masks before entering the mall.

In the meantime, Centre Point Sabah's official Facebook page and Instagram page have been providing more interactiv­e content for the audience at home to engage.

Currently, Centre Point Sabah is having Halloween Drawing and Colouring Contest and Spooktacul­ar Costume Contest, which are both online contests for contestant­s to participat­e to win amazing prizes.
