Dr Noor Hisham ‘superhero’ in BoBoiBoy series to spread CAPP message

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Each and every one of us can be a hero in the fight against Covid-19 by embracing the new normal culture known as CAPP, said ‘new superhero’ of the popular local animated series, BoBoiBoy, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Don’t be mistaken, the Health director-general has not made a career change but only appeared as a 3D animated figure in a community service message video entitled “CAPP: Power to Fight Covid-19”.

It is a collaborative initiative between character business company and intellectual property enabler, Monsta and the Ministry of Health (MOH).

In the one-minute video clip, Dr Noor Hisham was seen using a disinfectant liquid as a ‘shield’ to protect BoBoiBoy and his friends against the Covid-19 virus.

“You do not need the power to defeat the Covid-19 virus, all you need is CAPP. With CAPP you can also be a hero,” said Dr Noor Hisham in the video.

CAPP is an approach that was introduced to educate the public to be more responsible in protecting themselves, their families and communities from Covid-19.

It covers four areas, namely prevent the spread of Covid-19 by educating family members and the community on the new normal; practice good hygiene to protect ourselves from the Covid19 infection; comply with the standard operating procedures set by the authorities; and monitor our health status.

CAPP was introduced with the aim of protecting the green zones from Covid-19 and turning the yellow zones into green zones in 14 days.

The video has garnered over 150,000 views on BoBoiBoy’s YouTube channel, Facebook page and Instagram in the first 24 hours of its release as well as close to 30,000 retweets.

Meanwhile, Monsta in a statement yesterday said the community service message video was produced to educate the people and instil a sense of responsibility among the public to help break the chain of Covid-19 transmission.

Apart from BoBoiBoy, Monsta which has over a decade of experience in producing feature films, television series, merchandise and other intellectual propertyrelated products, is also known by its popular animated franchise such as Papa Pipi and Fly With Yaya.
