CCB Labuan benefits people of two nations, says Huazong

KOTA KINABALU: The Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong) president, Tan Sri T.C Goh, congratulates China Construction Bank (CCB) Labuan on its commendable achievements within the first year of its establishment.

He is convinced that under the prudent management of its current leadership, the bank would continue to grow and expand in the right direction.

“As I had mentioned one year ago that the setting up of CCB Labuan signifies a closer cooperation in the financial sector between Malaysia and China, and it would certainly benefit the people of the two nations, we are thus hopeful of its developments in Labuan and Malaysia, as a whole.

“We are especially confident of CCB deployment of 'Financial Technology or FinTech' in setting up the ‘digital finance system' to better serve and satisfy the needs of its clients,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Goh believes the strong foundation laid by CCB in Kuala Lumpur four years ago, and its commendable achievements in Labuan, subsequently, would poise to attract more Chinese investors to undertake mega development projects in Malaysia, and this may later encourage other international financial institutions to follow its footsteps to set up their branches in Labuan.

“This would certainly augur well for Labuan's economy and its status as an international business and financial hub.

“We earnestly wish CCB would continue to have a booming business ahead, and continue to contribute significantly towards bilateral trade cooperation between Malaysia and China,” he said.

Meanwhile, CCB Labuan marks its 1st anniversary celebration today.
