Safa Bandaraya supports Bung Moktar’s appointmen­t

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Football Associatio­n (Safa) Bandaraya have given their full support to Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin’s appointmen­t as Sabah FA acting president.

Safa Bandaraya president, Datuk Alijus Sipil, said Bung Moktar who is also the Deputy Chief Minister-cum-State Works Minister was the right man to lead the state football governing body.

Alijus also believed that Bung Moktar has the capability to bring positive changes to Sabah football.

“Safa Bandaraya will always support any form of developmen­t for the betterment of football in the state.

“We will give our strongest cooperatio­n to the acting president of Safa so that all his efforts and plans for the associatio­n will be realised,” he said after a visit to the Sukma field near here identified for the state junior football academy TABS to conduct its training programme.

TABS Safa Bandaraya deputy chairman Lokman Sunggim was among those present.

Alijus went on to express his hope that Bung Moktar’s leadership presence within the associatio­n would lead to improvemen­t of the sport here thus restore the golden days of Sabah football.

“Good leadership as well as effective management will lead to excellent achievemen­t,” he added.

Meanwhile, Alijus who is also TABS advisor said the football field in Sukma was one of the venues used by the junior football academy to conduct their training.

“Works at the field has been completed and we are just waiting for approval from the government to use it.

“Football developmen­t programmes under TABS too will resume once we have the greenlight from the government,” he said.
