KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor yesterday guaranteed the Chinese community that the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will always listen to their problems and come forward with solutions to benefit all.

He said the GRS government is one that cares for the people and listens to their hearts, irrespective of their race.

Speaking on YouTube for his Chinese New Year 2021 address yesterday, Hajiji also commended the Chinese community for their hard work, particularly in the field of business and enterprise.

“Those who want to become entrepreneurs should emulate the Chinese who are hardworking and committed in running their business,” he said.

In his address, Hajiji also spoke of the upcoming year of the bull and urged that the traits of the bull which are industriousness, responsible, brave, skilled and confident, be emulated.

“This year is the year of the bull in the Chinese calendar and may this year shine hope, strength, happiness and health as well as prosperity,” he said.

He added that although the year 2020 was a difficult year for Sabah, it is necessary to address the pandemic with patience.

“Economic growth is important for us in Sabah,” he said.

Hajiji said that the Sabah government under the GRS leadership has planned a holistic development plan, the ‘Halatuju Sabah Maju Jaya (2021-2025 Development plan) which would spur economic development for five years in Sabah.

He said that the focus of the ‘Sabah Maju Jaya Halatuju’ is the agriculture, industry and tourism sectors.

Additionally, it will also focus on human capital development and the wellbeing of the people as well as on infrastructure network and green sustainability, he said.

“As the Chief Minister, I hope the implementation of the SMJ halatuju and programmes under it will produce the hoped results and bring about economic growth not just for the State but also for her people,” he said.

At the same time, Hajiji also reminded the people to remember the frontliners who are facing the pandemic and pray for them as well as their family.
