Politics ‘very unusual game’ – Masidi
KOTA KINABALU: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) state deputy chairman Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun has chosen not to comment much on the decision of an opposition assemblyman to quit Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan).
“First and foremost, I don’t have any reactions to be honest. As far as I’m concerned, he’s free to choose his political future. I’m sure he did that for some reason.
“I don’t want to judge the decisions of other people in politics. It’s entirely their discretion. I wish him luck,” Masidi told reporters on Friday.
On Thursday, Warisan’s Sebatik assemblyman Hassan A Gani Pg Amir announced that he had quit his party. Hassan had said that he is now an independent assemblyman who supports the Sabah Government under Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), as well as the leadership of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Sabah Chief Minister
Datuk Hajiji Noor.
When asked whether Hassan’s departure would pave the way for more opposition assemblymen to join GRS, Masidi said he would rather not speculate.
“I really can’t speculate. Politics is a very unusual game – an unusual profession. You really don’t know what is going to happen next,” he said.
