Elected reps all ready for vaccination, assuring people to ‘not worry’

-

KU CHIN G: Elected representatives are prepared to take the Covid-19 vaccine.

For Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, there is nothing to worry about when it comes to taking the jab. “Millions of people have already been vaccinated in the United States, the United Kingdom, across Europe, China – yet, here in Sarawak, we're worried about the side effects?

“For those millions who have taken the vaccine...should they be worried too?” he said when contacted yesterday.

Abdul Karim, who is Asajaya assemblyman, said he was all prepared for the vaccination.

“For now, I'm waiting for the Ministry of Health to give the date for my vaccination,” he said.

Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh said he was ‘raring to go for the vaccination'.

“I will get my jab tomorrow morning (today) at Singai Health Clinic,” he said.

On the concerns raised by some netizens, Miro believed that vaccination was the best way to address the pandemic.

“So far, there's no other option that we have.

“So I call upon all citizens to register (for the vaccination programme) and accept the government's effort. Together, we play our role in stopping this pandemic,” he said.

Just like Abdul Karim and Miro, Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus said he had no problem in taking the vaccine.

“I'm supposed to get my jab tomorrow (today) but due to some unforeseen circumstances, it has been rescheduled to another date, which I would be informed later.
