NGO donates to family of thalassaemic boy

-

KOTA KINABALU: Responding to the plea for assistance by his mother, Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (Yadim) recently donated in cash and kind to Neowell Vann Houtton Mussley.

Neowell was diagnosed with thalassaemia major when he was four years old and needs to undergo a blood transfusion every month.

Recently, his mother Selly Onong had appealed to blood donors for help as Neowell needed blood for his transfusion.

Neowell’s father who hails from Pensiangan is employed at a hotel in the state capital while

Shelly is a housewife who is taking care of their son full time.

Yadim Sabah representative, Samin Ongki who handed over the donation to Neowell’s family in their residence in Tanjung Aru expressed hope that it will ease the family’s burden.

He said that Neowell’s father’s income was affected because of the Movement Control Order (MCO) and Yadim wants to help the family out as best it can.

Selly meanwhile again appealed for public assistance and those who wish to donate blood can do so at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital 1 or contact her at 014735 7915.
