MEF urges employers to support immunisation program

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) called upon private sector employers to continue to support the government’s efforts to stop the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic by encouraging their employees to be vaccinated.

The federation also urged the employers to strictly adhere to the established standard operating procedures.

“Let us support the government efforts and together we make the National Covid19 Immunisation Programme a success,” MEF president Datuk Dr Syed Hussain Syed Husman said in a statement yesterday.

The National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, which began on Feb 24, will undergo three phases up to February 2022 with a target of vaccinating about 80 per cent of the local and foreign residents to establish ‘herd immunity’.

MEF said Malaysia stood a better chance at resuming normal life and to return to business as usual with the arrival of the Covid-19 vaccines.
