Ministry ready to help vaccination registration
KOTA KINABALU: The Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Ministry is ready to assist in the registration of targeted groups in the state for the National Covid-19 vaccination program.
Its minister, Shahelmey Yahya said the ministry’s readiness includes helping to make access to the database of those who are eligible for the vaccine easier.
He pointed out that to the ministry, the targeted groups are the elderly, people with disabilities, orphans and children.
“We can help to compile the database so that these people will be able to participate in the program. We will communicate with the state Health Department to see how we can help out with the registration process,” said Shahelmey who was met at a blood donation program at Masjid Nurul Iman, Kampung Pasir Putih, Putatan, on Sunday.
The Tanjung Keramat assemblyman also urged Sabahans to join the national vaccination program voluntarily as it will not only protect them personally but also the community in general.
On the blood donation program, Shahelmey said it was a good move as it improves public awareness on the need to replenish supply of blood bank.
