PKR S’wak still has support, strength to face coming state polls – Roland
MIRI: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak will continue to have support of its members to serve the people despite yesterday’s resignation of state chairman Larry Sng said State Leadership Council (MPN) vice chairman Roland Engan.
Voicing confidence that the party would have the strength needed for the coming state election, he said PKR members in the state remained steadfast behind party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the party’s reformation agenda.
“PKR Baram and PKR Sarawak would like to wish all the best to YB Larry Sng who has stepped down as chairman of MPN Sarawak and left the party.
“We appreciate all his sacrifices and contributions to the party throughout the party’s reconstruction period since a year ago,” Roland, who is PKR Baram branch chairman, said in a statement.
The statement was issued after it was confirmed that Sng, who is Julau MP, quit the party to become a Perikatan Nasional-friendly independent.
Roland added the MPN will decide on the best formula to continue the party’s works and will not let the vacant chairman’s post become an obstacle for the party to move forward.
Sng is said to have tendered his letter of resignation to PKR headquarters in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.
