Every citizen’s responsibility to be vaccinated against Covid-19, says Soon Koh

SIBU: It is the responsibility of every citizen to undergo the Covid-19 vaccination process to break the chain of infection in the country, said Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) president Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh.

The Bawang Assan assemblyman, who received his Covid-19 jab at Lanang Health Clinic here yesterday, said the vaccine is the surest way to protect members of the community against infection.

“I’m 78 and at my age, I still do it (getting vaccinated). So there is no reason why younger and stronger people cannot do it.

“This is something that we have to accept – immunisation or vaccination has to be done in order to stop Covid-19 from spreading. Everyone has to do it so that the entire community can be protected,” he said when met after receiving the vaccine.

He pointed out that senior citizens are considered a more vulnerable group and thus need to be vaccinated against the virus.

To a question, Wong described receiving the Covid-19 jab as just like getting any other injection.

“There is no pain, nothing,” he chuckled.
