Five 2021 Premier League matches rescheduled – MFL
KUALA LUMPUR: Five Premier League matches for the 2021 season have been rescheduled after the applications by Sarawak United FC and Kuching City FC to change game venues were approved by the Malaysian Football League’s (MFL) board of directors yesterday.
MFL in a statement yesterday said that Sarawak United FC which previously registered the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium as its home ground venue, applied to hold the matches at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Melaka, which was agreed to by Melaka United FC and the Melaka Stadium Corporation.
The match betwen Sarawak United FC against Kelantan United FC has been rescheduled from March 6 to March 7, 2021 at the Hang Jebat Stadium and the match against Terengganu FC II is rescheduled from March 20 to March 21.
The match between Perak FC II and Sarawak United FC was rescheduled from March 9 to March 10, to give Sarawak United FC a rest period after the match against Kelantan United FC.
Meanwhile, stricter enforcement of standard operating procedures (SOP) in Sarawak following the rise in Covid-19 positive cases there has forced Kuching City FC to request for its first two games to be played at the opponent’s venue instead.
Kuching City FC also applied for the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu to be its home ground venue for their remaining matches.
The venue changes will see the match against Terengganu FC II at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium rescheduled from March 9 to March 10.
Kuching City FC’s match against Sarawak United FC at the Hang Jebat Stadium will be held on March 16 while the meeting against Selangor FC 2 has been rescheduled from April 17 to April 18, at the Likas Stadium.
