MANAGEMENT and Science University (MSU) Foundation (MSUF) has launched the Yayasan MSU (YMSU) Scholarships.

The soft launch of the scholarship awards, held on main campus in Shah Alam recently, presented three recipients with MSU’s SCORE.

All three, from MSU’s February 2021 intake, will be studying on the Foundation (Science Biology/Health Science) programme.

Selected in the first batch from among a hundred and sixty-four applicants, they are on a pathway to the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme at MSU’s International Medical School (IMS).

Muhammad Danish Mohd Nizam, Lim Zi Ling, and Mandy Chan Wen Xi, each received the award from MSU President Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid; witnessed by MSU Senior Vice-President for Endowment and Communication Dato’ Rosli Yusof.

The pursuit of excellence stands primarily behind the scholarships, remarked Professor Tan Sri Dr Shukri.

The SCORE award is MSU’s Scholarship Reward for Excellence in academic achievement. MSU Foundation also offers the MSU Outstanding Reward (MORE) for cocurricular achievements.

Aid of the needy through zakat is the second of three target aims among MSU Foundation’s efforts in meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). Scholarship assistance to the academically excellent among the economically disadvantaged is provided through the YM Hibiscus Project scholarship awards, which extend also to members of staff from MSU and MSU College in a human capital development initiative by the University.

Currently home to students from over forty countries, Management and Science University (MSU) offers scholarships to international students, too, as well as MSUrians going abroad on the University’s Global Mobility Programme (GMP), Global Leadership Programme (GLP), and Global Internship Programme (GIP).

Over 9.2 million Ringgit were disbursed through scholarships and zakat by MSU Foundation among 992 recipients in 2019; across primary and secondary as well as tertiary education.

In driving and transforming MSU towards excellence, financial assistance has been provided to outstanding and deserving students to acquire quality education.

The funds are distributed through various means including collaborative efforts between MSU and several public and private institutional partners.

All scholarships, sponsorship and financial aid are offered through the MSU Foundation.
