All groups urged to support Green Malaysia Campaign

KANGAR: All quarters including mass media clubs, nongovernmental organisations should jointly support the government to make the Green Malaysia programme through the 100 Million Tree-Planting Campaign a success.

Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister, Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin said the role of the mass media is important to encourage the people to be involved in this noble effort.

“As the patron of the Perlis Journalist Association (PWP), I hope journalists in Perlis and all over Malaysia in general would play their roles in supporting the greening campaign,” he told reporters here on Sunday.

He was officiating the Green Malaysia Programme: 100 Million Tree-Planting Campaign with PWP and Perlis Scouts Association at the Bukit Bintang Forest Reserve near here.

Today more than 1,000 Meranti Temak Nipis trees were planted by members of PWP, Perlis Scout Association and seven other NGOs.
