Jahid donates prayer mats, paints mosque

TAMPARULI: Understand­ing and tolerance are the key to unity, said State Rural Developmen­t Minister Datuk Jahid Jahim.

The Tamparuli assemblyma­n said that such practices are vital in preserving unity in a society comprising various beliefs, religions and ethnic groups.

“Only with a high degree of understand­ing and tolerance would we be able to maintain unity and peace in the world,” said Jahid after officiatin­g the GotongRoyo­ng Mengecat Bangunan

Masjid Al-Quddus Kampung Kiwoi Tamparuli programme, here on Tuesday.

Also present at the event were Political Secretary to State Rural Developmen­t Ministry Jilias Lintar, Tamparuli Community Developmen­t Leader (PPM) Madin Anak, Tamparuli and Kiulu SubDistric­t Religious Administra­tion Officer Ustaz Suffian Kundu, Special Officer (Islamic Affairs) Malindo Josla, Kiwoi Village Chief KK Musani Murajik and Crime Prevention and Community

Security Department (JPKK) Rosna Hajimin.

Jahid said that the families in Sabah are a perfect example of unity, where it can be seen that people of different beliefs could coexist.

He said that the tolerance and respect have been a common practice for Sabahans since long ago.

During the event, Jahid donated three prayer mats to the mosque and also participat­ed in the painting of the mosque.
