Pos Malaysia appoints Dato’ Mohamed Sharil as independent non-executive director

KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia Bhd (Pos Malaysia) has appointed Dato’ Mohamed Sharil Mohamed Tarmizias its Independent Non-Executive Director on its board with effect from April 13, 2021.

Mohamed Sharil was previously the chairman and chief executive of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), an independent regulatory body set up by a Malaysian Act of Parliament to develop, oversee and regulate the communications and multimedia sector in Malaysia.

MCMC is also the regulator for the postal and courier industry pursuant to the Postal Services Act 2012.

His years with the regulator provided him with vast industry knowledge in the areas of broadband, internet, e-commerce, cybersecurity, telecommunications, aviation, ICT products and services as well as the postal and courier services/express delivery and digital signature services.

Due to his extensive background and immense experience in corporate and regulatory sectors as well as legal and finance, his appointment to the board would bring diverse range of disciplines to the board.
