Operation of markets being reassessed


KOTA KINABALU: In light of the spike in Covid-19 cases in Sabah, the state government is now forced to reassess the operation of markets.

Sabah’s official Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said that there is an urgent need to control the number of cases in the state.

“Therefore, all local authoritie­s are required to review the activities of night markets, general markets, weekly markets, tamu, stalls and so on,” he said in a statement.

He reiterated that the operation of Ramadan bazaars is still not allowed in light of the emergence of new clusters.
