Family loses home in Pitas fire
KOTA MARUDU: A family lost their home in a fire at Kampung Kalipuo in Pitas, here on Wednesday.
Kota Marudu Fire and Rescue operation chief Gabuh Maradan said a distress call was received at 7.58 am and five fire and rescue personnel with two fire trucks were dispatched to the location, which is about 50 kilometers from the fire station.
Fire and rescue personnel managed to control the blaze by 8.58 am while the operation ended at 9.07 am.
Gabuh said the fire completely destroyed the single story house but thankfully no one was injured in the incident.
The cause of the fire and total loss is still under investigation, he said.
