Two drug pushers detained in Papar

PAPAR: Two drug pushers were detained by police with 8.31 grams of syabu on Friday.

Papar police chief DSP Batholomew Umpit said both suspects were apprehende­d by narcotic police during an operation within the district.

Police found several plastic packets of crystal substance believed to be syabu weighing at 8.31 grams from the suspects.

Both suspects, in their 20s and 30s, have been remanded for investigat­ion under Section 39A(1) and Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Batholomew said the arrests were made following a tip-off from the public on drug activities taking place in their area.

He therefore thanked the public for their continuous cooperatio­n with the police in keeping their area free of any criminal activities.
