BTS may release single May 21

BTS is preparing to drop a digital single May 21, reported The Korea Herald.

There had been speculation that the band might release new music in May, but this time a specific date was added. Label Big Hit Music reiterated that it would announce the timeline once the artists’ schedules could be confirmed.

It has been about six months since BTS rolled out a new album around the world. ‘BE (Deluxe Edition)’ came out in November last year, and BTS will release a best-of album in Japan in June.

The septet’s August 2020 digital single ‘Dynamite’ was a megahit that made history by landing at the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 simultaneously, a feat achieved only by the band and Taylor Swift. It remained on the Hot 100 for a record 32 weeks and won the band a Grammy nomination as well as a standalone performance at the award show.
