-

KOTA KINABALU: The Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) has launched an integrated operation against illegal traders at kaki lima (five-foot way) or pedestrian malls.

The operation, involving the Licensing, Enforcement, Building Control and other departments of DBKK, was carried out at Sinsuran and Segama on Monday afternoon.

Verbal warnings were given to stall operators who utilized five-foot way without licence as well as to shop owners to ensure they do not rent out five-foot way or sidewalk to street vendors.

DBKK also ensured shop owners complied with the set area of the sidewalk.

Compounds were issued to vendors who violated the order.
