Nutanix strengthens APAC ops with new PSC in M’sia
KUALA LUMPUR: Nutanix Inc, a Nasdaq-listed provider of private cloud, hybrid cloud, and multicloud computing, has strengthened its Asia Pacific (APAC) operations with the launch of a regional Partner Support Centre (PSC) in Malaysia recently.
Nutanix Malaysia country manager Avinash Gowda said the new PSC aims to localise its services by providing multilanguage support systems to its partners in Malaysia and other countries in the region.
“We view this as a strategic investment for us, primarily because Malaysia has a very large skilled young population as well as all the infrastructure required for information technology companies to set up and run operations.
“So when we evaluated the growth across the APAC region, which by the way is one of our fastest growing regions worldwide, we saw Malaysia had all the right components for us to look for investments,” he told Bernama in an exclusive interview.
Nutanix Inc, which is headquartered in San Jose, California, has been operating in Malaysia for six years.
Avinash said the PSC will adopt an everything-as-aservice (EaaS) concept which will provide its partners with solutions that fit their customer base such as infrastructure service, storage service, so ware service or database as a service.
“The PSC will help Nutanix achieve one of its main goals, which is to drive more services sales through strategic partnerships,” he added.
According to Avinash, Nutanix Malaysia’s customers are currently made of large enterprises including banks and government agencies that are undergoing digital transformation, with 64 per cent of their customers being based in the Klang Valley.
Therefore, the company is looking forward to further expanding its business nationwide, particularly in East Malaysia, as more potential businesses are moving towards adopting cloud-based services.
“We are now growing and we are hiring more people in the area of enterprise business, because that is our fastest growing and highest potential business, other than the public sector.
“The government has also made some very farsighted announcements in terms of deploying cloud, and encouraging cloud usage, not only by the private sector, but also the public sector; and Nutanix is happy to be here because we play very strongly in the area of hybrid cloud,” said Avinash.
