Two-metre python caught in Kota Belud

KOTA BELUD: The Malaysian Civil Defence (APM) captured a two-meter long python snake at Kampung Rampayan Laut, here on Tuesday.

APM operation chief Azahari Maskah said the reptile was captured after the home owner spotted the snake behind her house compound around 10.50 am.

“A team was mobilised to the location and managed to spot the snake among some bushes.

“The two meter long and four kilogram snake was then captured using a hook stick,” said Azahari, adding that the reptile will be handed to the Wildlife Department for further action.

Azahari added that no untoward incident was reported and the operation ended around 11.50 am.
