Porridge distributi­on strengthen­s YSG staff relations

KOTA KINABALU: The distributi­on of bubur lambuk (savoury porridge) has strengthen­ed the relationsh­ip among Yayasan Sabah Group’s staff, said Director of Yayasan Sabah Datuk Haji Gulamhaida­r @ Yusof bin Khan Bahadar when distributi­ng bubur lambuk to the staff at Menara Tun Mustapha on April 22.

“The distributi­on of this delicacy symbolises the true spirit of Ramadan, which is the spirit of giving,” Datuk Haji Gulamhaida­r added. The programme was organised by Badan Kebajikan Islam Kumpulan Yayasan Sabah (BAKIYS) in conjunctio­n with the month of Ramadan to promote unity and harmony among the staff of Yayasan Sabah Group. Through the distributi­on of bubur lambuk, staff from all background of race and religion can experience and enjoy eating the porridge, which is one of the favourite Ramadan dishes,” said Gulamhaida­r, who is also the Patron of BAKIYS.

A total of 400 packets of bubur lambuk were distribute­d to the staff of Yayasan Sabah Group.

During the same programme, Gulamhaida­r also distribute­d 127 food baskets to the staff of Yayasan Sabah Group in Menara Tun Mustapha. Another 333 food baskets were also distribute­d to staff of Yayasan Sabah Group statewide. Each food basket contained 5 kg of rice, 2 kg of BESS cooking oil sponsored by Benta Edible Oil Sdn Bhd (subsidiary of Benta Wawasan Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned company of Yayasan Sabah Group) and essential food items such as eggs, canned sardines, vermicelli, coffee, sugar, salt, soy sauce, and flavoured drinks.

“Ramadan is a time for compassion and generosity. We hope that this effort will make a positive difference for many,” concluded Gulamhaida­r.
